Arbour

ARBOUR a framework that supports climbing plants; "the arbor provided a shady resting place in the park". When I plant tomato's and grapes I have to make sure I put an ARBOUR in to support the vines and fruit.

Ingratiate

I like this word! INGRATIATE means to bring oneself into favour with someone by flattering or trying to please them. Basically in Australian slang, it's a suck-up, butt-kisser and goodie-two-shoes etc. It makes the old slang words seem petty and instead puts an elegant twist on insulting. I am now going to call my brother an INGRATIATOR and say that he only has one purpose in life - to INGRATIATE. Oh this is marvellous! INGRATIATING can get you some places but not everywhere, real results come from hard work and determination.

Eminence

EMINENCE means 1. Fame or recognized superiority, esp. within a particular sphere or profession: "her EMINENCE in cinematography". 2. An important or distinguished person: "the Attorney General canvassed the views of various legal EMINENCES". Those examples are from Google, and here are some of my own: "Kim Kadashians knows her EMINENCE in reality television" and "The Judge reviewed statements from key EMINENCES". Have a beautiful morning, day, afternoon, night and everything else. :)

Auguring

AUGURING means 1.(of an event or circumstance) Portend a good or bad outcome. OR, 2.Portend or bode (a specified outcome). Examples of this are the statement: 'I feared that the play would not AUGUR well' or the statement 'The fecies on the pathway seemed to augur Mia's life'. AUGURING is simply the process of such things happening.

Soporific

SOPORIFIC means: Tending to induce drowsiness or sleep. Also, a drug or other agent of this kind. When I listen to a monotone voice I find that to be quite SOPORIFIC and I tend to want to dose off until they are gone. I also find maths class SOPORIFIC and thats not because I think I know everything that the teacher is saying, it is because I just find no interest in what the teacher is saying even if I do want to get good exam results. Please avoid being SOPORIFIC in any way and make your life fun, exciting and the envy of your peers!

Proscribed

PROSCRIBED means to forbid especially by law. If something is PROSCRIBED it is illegal, in Australia, the use and sale of drugs such as cannibus and coccaine is PROSCRIBED as is the sale of alcohol to people under the age of 18. We do have other laws in which something has been PROSCRIBED but I cannot be bothered to list them all here tonight. PROSCRIBED also means to denounce or condemn. That is, when terrorists are arrested they would most likely be PROSCRIBED to death.

Insalubrious

Wow, this word is a mouth full! INSALUBRIOUS means not salubrious; unhealthy, (of a climate or locality). SALBRIUS means healthy, plesant, not run-down - just for definitions sake. China is probably regarded as INSALUBRIUS as it has alot of polution in the air, (I'm sorry if any of my readers live in China and are offended y this :S) Whereas Australia would probably be SALBRIUS because of the healthy air.

Obstinacy

Sorry I haven't posted in ages!!!!!!!! I have found some good words though :D Here is OBSTINACY it means stubborness: the trait of being difficult to handle or overcome. I believe that the mental illness of Depression would have OBSTINACY to it, as would all mental illness'. My brother has uncontrollable OBSTINACY and don't even get me started on my dog! If he doesn't want to go for a walk he sits in the middle of the road and won't go again until you have turned toward home and promise him some doggie biscuits! Goodness me!

Try not to OBSTINATE it's probably bad for your health.
